United Computer Group (UCG) has announced VAULT400 "disaster recovery and high availability managed service" offerings for the IBM i (AS/400 and Power Systems) and Intel- based servers. These new managed service offerings complement VAULT400 online backup and provide hardware recovery time objective (RTO) options ranging from 72, 24, 12 or less than 1 hour.
"Our customers asked for it and UCG is pleased to deliver," said Jim Kandrac, president of United Computer Group, Inc. "Combining VAULT400 online backup with managed service hardware RTO options is a very cost effective and attractive offering for mid-market organizations. Prior to the introduction of VAULT400's Online Backup Service in 2006, organizations relied strictly on tape or spent significant dollars on high availability. VAULT400 in 2006 "filled the gap" between tape and H/A with online backup and now in 2009, VAULT400 has "closed" the gap with VAULT400 DR and H/A managed service offerings.
