Kisco Systems, a leading provider of security software and services for the IBM i (AS400, iSeries) computing platform, today announced the hiring of Steve Riedmueller as Director of IBM i Security Services. In this role, Steve will be responsible for all client facing engagements including IBM i penetration testing, security assessments, security remediation projects and software implementations.

Steve has been working on the IBM i platform since 2001. He started in a System Administration role and has developed extensive expertise in security, performance, communications, and various IBM and 3rd-party software packages. Steve holds a B.S. from Rutgers University in Management Science and Information Systems. In recent years Steve has become an IBM Champion, a speaker at IBM i user groups and conferences, and a mentor and committee leader with COMMON's N2i program.

Justin Loeber, Owner and CEO of Kisco Systems, says that hiring Steve in this role was the next logical step for the business. “With our acquisition of DXR Security in May of this year, we announced that we were serious about helping customers solve their IBM i security problems. Bringing someone like Steve Riedmueller on board expands on that commitment even further.” And beyond his skills, Steve is a guy you want on the team, says Justin. “Steve’s remarkable depth of character makes him the ideal fit for Kisco Systems. I know our customers and the service business are in great hands.”

Carol Woodbury, Kisco’s IBM i Security SME, agrees. “As I’ve gotten to know Steve, I’ve been so impressed with his technical acumen and the depth of experience he brings from working on the inside of big IBM i shops. I look forward to working together with Steve to refine, expand and deliver Kisco’s security services.”

Steve is excited for his next step and is ready for the challenge. “Moving into a vendor role is a big change for me, but the timing is perfect. With Carol Woodbury on the Kisco team, I’ll be mentored by the best and can focus all of my professional experience on helping Kisco’s customers and contributing to the IBM i community.”

Outside of work, Steve enjoys StarCraft 2, weightlifting, and traveling around the US with his family in their RV. You can meet Steve at many upcoming 2025 IBM i events such as WMCPA, COMMON POWERUp and more.

Kisco Information Systems was formed in 1984 to provide high quality data processing services to businesses in the New York Metropolitan area. The goal was, and continues to be, to provide clients with high quality professional services at a reasonable cost. Our concentration specialty it the IBM i series of systems including Power Server running IBM i, i5, iSeries and AS/400.

Since formation, Kisco has expanded its client list on a steady basis. We have tried successfully to take on clients where we can make a significant business contribution. Our approach is to view data processing as a business resource used to solve business problems in a cost effective way.

Kisco Information Systems significantly expanded its own business horizons starting in 1986. We then started publishing software for the IBM i family and System/36 with several award winning products in national and international distribution. Our list of software customers is constantly expanding. It includes Jefferson Smurfit Corporation, the US Department of Agriculture, Amway, Heald College, Airborne Express, Cargill International, Wyeth-Ayerst Canada and more. We have more than 6000 software installations in the US and more than 40 foreign countries.

In March 2002, Kisco Information Systems moved to new administrative offices deep in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in Saranac Lake, New York. While we continue to support our consulting clients in the downstate area with on site resources, this move has allowed us to increase our level of support for our software customers.
