IBM ILOG products deliver new optimization and visualization technology.

IBM today announced new software that helps companies speed decision-making, adapt operations to capitalize on new sources of revenue and better manage their business processes.

The new IBM ILOG offerings include enhancements to optimization and visualization products. IBM ILOG graphics products enhance business decision-making speed and ability by making vast quantities of complex data more comprehensible and manageable. Using IBM ILOG visualization software, developers can save 50 to 80 percent of development time. IBM ILOG’s optimization technology interprets complex business data and logic and then computes operational plans and schedules, arming decision-makers with insights into best-case and expected case scenarios. This can enable them to make choices and trade-offs about capital expenditures, resource assignments or schedules.

“In the face of intense global competition, business success can be defined by the ability to quickly assess complex problems, determine potential outcomes, and then make fast, intelligent, informed decisions,” said Nancy Pearson, vice president, BPM, SOA, WebSphere and Industry Marketing, IBM. “IBM ILOG products provide professionals from a range of industries with the critical tools they need to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions, conserve resources and achieve their business objectives.”

New Products Enhance Business Models

IBM ILOG optimization software helps businesses transform business issues and objectives into models that can be solved using sophisticated optimization algorithms, producing precise and logical decisions. IBM ILOG visualization technology presents data in the form of detailed diagrams, maps, schedules, charts and dashboards for easy consumption by business users. The new offerings include:

IBM ILOG CPLEX 12, which extends the benefits of optimization beyond operations research professionals to a wide range of technical specialists. The software is well-suited for new and diverse applications in industries ranging from financial services to manufacturing, travel and transportation, energy and utilities, and others. Specialized connectors, add-ins and interfaces allow users to access CPLEX from within popular software tools such as MATLAB, Microsoft Excel and Python. CPLEX 12 now also solves challenging Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) models twice as fast as the previous version.

IBM ILOG CP Optimizer, which provides users with a core optimization technology targeted at tackling common operational planning and scheduling problems.

IBM ILOG OPL-CPLEX Developer Edition and Analyst Studio, which allows developers and modelers to efficiently build optimization models for planning and scheduling applications, taking advantage of the latest features of IBM ILOG OPL Development Studio, and the latest releases of IBM ILOG CPLEX and IBM ILOG CP Optimizer.

IBM ILOG Optimization Decision Manager
(ODM) Enterprise 3.3, which allows IT groups to rapidly build homegrown planning and scheduling applications that take advantage of optimization technologies. The software enables line of business managers to quickly make decisions and create efficient plans and schedules that conserve resources and improve productivity.

IBM ILOG Gantt for .NET 4.0, IBM ILOG Gantt for .NET for Project Management 4.0 and IBM ILOG Diagram for .NET 2.0, which enable .NET developers to create interactive Rich Internet Applications for planning and scheduling online services and applications as well as those that rely on diagrams for editing and visualizing processes, networks and Web maps. The tools provide fast rendering, smooth animations, and natural interactions to help deploy visual authoring tools.

Enhanced IBM ILOG products are now available across the four product lines that make up the portfolio. These offerings show IBM’s ongoing commitment to enhance the capabilities of its BPM and SOA leadership portfolio, which is designed to help clients optimize their businesses across many different industries.
