New integration makes it easier for organizations to incorporate DevOps and ALM software to extend the value of their IBM i investment and accelerate time-to-market

Rocket Aldon Lifecycle Manager (Enterprise Edition), an application lifecycle management (ALM) and DevOps software solution from Rocket Software designed for IBM i and other host-based systems, now offers integration with popular open source version control system Git. The feature is just one of many upgrades included with the new release of Aldon LM(e), which also sees the introduction of a new administrative console as well as enhanced security and overall performance enhancements that help support very large deployments involving hundreds of developers and thousands of servers.

"Aldon LM(e) is designed to simplify development for organizations undergoing modernization and other projects involving complex deployments," says Dan Magid, VP of Modernization, DevOps & HA solutions at Rocket Software. "Today's programmers and development shops are really comfortable with Git and they like working with it. For these developers, the integration with Git makes it easier than ever to incorporate ALM and DevOps software into their current systems and start seeing the benefits of automated deployment and enhanced process control for complex development projects, including faster time to market and better application quality."

As codebases get bigger, deployments become more complex. And, as regulations require more time and effort from businesses, many organizations are turning to application lifecycle management and DevOps solutions to solve their development needs. When reviewing prospective solutions, flexibility and integration with the organization's current tools and applications are often a top priority. Rocket ALM solutions enable programmers across a spectrum of development platforms - including IBM i - to incorporate Git and other developer tools into their DevOps processes.

Many organizations require more than change management to modernize their projects. Aldon LM(e) picks up where Git leaves off, offering comprehensive solutions for compliance management, complex deployments, application lifecycle reporting and monitoring, automation of key workflows, and more.
