Maximum Availability, the creator of the *noMAX suite of products and a leader in IBM System i high availability and disaster-recovery software solutions, has announced a significant new product release it says will extend the capabilities of *noMAX and provide advanced customer functionality to improve the control and manageability of the System i environment.
Allan Campbell, Maximum Availability's CEO, said that the continued enhancement of the company's product suite has remained a core priority to ensure that its products deliver a depth of features to meet the most demanding customer requirements in businesses of all sizes as they move forward.
"This new release signals an important development in the evolution of the *noMAX product roadmap and represents the foundation of the next generation HA and DR solutions being developed by Maximum Availability - all of which continues to build on it market position of delivering the most innovative, relevant, and effective replication solutions in the market," he said.
Underpinning this release is the rollout of core modules that include autonomic functionality, significantly enhanced auditing, and a new green-screen menu to further enhance user management and administration.
Campbell also announced the launch of patrolMAX as part of this release, a new and powerful monitoring feature that processes autonomic requests to replicate out-of-sync objects and ensuring, as a result, greater operating efficiency and quicker replication issue response and resolution times.
In addition to the core modules, the company introduced a range of new feature enhancements included as part of this release. They include:
GUI Dashboard - the replication environment is now even easier to view and manage via the *noMAX user interface with the addition of color-coded icons representing the status of each configuration.
Property File - allowing new and existing *noMAX processes to be controlled through property settings resulting in greater user flexibility and ability to customize their environment and the overall replication process.
Enhanced IFS Role Swap - This new feature provides greater functionality on the backup system and further safeguards IFS-related transactions during a role swap.
Object Type Support - *USRIDX (User Index) *USRSPC (User Space) and *SAVF (Save File)
Spool File Replication - providing users with the ability to replicate spool-to-data to the target system ensuring that the two systems maintain identical matches of information, which provides greater utilization of the user's applications and enhances the overall functionality on the backup system.
Library Level Activity - allowing users to enter or select multiple library names at the same time, which will considerably speed up this process.
GUI Journal Management - This new feature will help to more quickly and effectively manage the user's overall replication environment.
"This new release represents a clearly conceived set of new and improved features that our customers have told us they want to protect their businesses from costly downtime and data loss," Campbell said. "It underscores the company's commitment to the continued innovation of the *noMAX products and our driving philosophy of delivering solutions for businesses of all sizes that are cost-effective, reliable, easy to deploy, and efficient to use," he said.
