Working with IBM, CAST will amplify the power of Rational Insight by adding a fourth measurable objective: application software technical quality.
CAST, a leader in Automated Application Intelligence, today announced it is working to seamlessly integrate its Application Intelligence Platform with IBM Rational Insight. Rational Insight is designed to enable performance measurement for software delivery, resulting in faster and more effective decisions for cutting costs and reducing business disruption risks.
Working with IBM through the Ready for IBM Rational software validation program, CAST will amplify the power of IBM Rational Insight by adding a fourth measurable objective--application software technical quality--to the three traditional objectives of IT management-cost, schedule, and scope.
IBM Rational Insight is an open and extensible performance measurement platform for software delivery that provides enterprise reporting with data from many Rational products to create and deliver business value. CAST objectively measures the evolving technical quality of a business application, including complexity, size, documentation, architectural quality, and other relevant metrics. CAST's ability to provide continual insight into how these measures of quality, team performance and risk of business disruption evolve as the project progresses, along with the functional quality, performance, and project metrics available in Rational Insight significantly enhances the power of IBM Rational Insight.
"CAST is a pioneer in "application intelligence" providing software technical quality, size, and productivity measures that IT and business executives need to achieve significantly more business productivity from their complex application software. We are extremely pleased to be aligned and integrated with IBM Rational Insight," said Marc Zablit, CAST's VP of Business Development. "CAST adds a set of objective software quality measures, transforming project performance data into actionable business intelligence for executives. The combined solution provides unprecedented management visibility and control over globally-distributed, multi-platform, multi-language software delivery."
"IBM Rational Insight can revolutionize how organizations measure software development performance and make business decisions," said Michael Loria, vice president, Business Development, IBM Rational Software. "By putting objective measures of application quality at executives' fingertips via readily accessible dashboards, the CAST product integration is a powerful, unique, and complementary addition to the IBM Rational product suite."
"CAST plus Rational Insight brings together application lifecycle management data that are typically dispersed across a vast array of performance-tracking systems," says Stephen Lauzon, manager, Rational ISV Technical Enablement and Strategy. "Combining CAST's quality data together with Insight's data on scope change, defects, and resource utilization gives IT and business executives unprecedented control over the real drivers of cost and business performance of their mission-critical software assets. For example, being able to see defect injection and resolution rates alongside CAST's quality metrics enables IT managers to dramatically increase delivery speed while reducing delivery cost."
