Quadrant Software, LLC a provider of document output management (DOM), has announced the launch of QuadraDocV, what the company is calling the industry's only virtual fax over IP (FoIP) product native to the IBM i (AS400/System i). QuadraDocV, powered by FastFax, runs on the industry standard VMware platform, enabling organizations to take full advantage of virtualized environments, simplifying infrastructure and continuing to minimize carbon footprint. QuadraDocV will be available April 17, 2012.

“Our customers are quickly moving down the path of virtualization and do not want to add another ‘box’ to their data centers,” says Steve Woodard, CEO of Quadrant Software, which the company says has the largest installed base of any fax server vendor tailored for the IBM i platform. “We can now offer our customers an alternative to traditional fax while leveraging their existing IT investment. QuadraDocV, a proven solution based on industry standards, also offers the benefit of cost savings along with the backing of an organization that carries an unsurpassed tradition of excellence.”

QuadraDocV incorporates SR140 software technology from the leading communications vendor, Dialogic, to integrate with customers' current telephony systems, eliminating the need for a physical fax card, and is easily deployed in the VMware environment.

Key benefits of QuadraDocV include:

  • Cost Savings: Eliminates the need for costly servers to be operated within the data center.
  • Unified Communications: Integrates tightly with existing VoIP infrastructure, unlike traditional fax models. According to a recent survey, approximately 40 percent of Quadrant Software customers currently have VoIP implementations with 14 percent planning implementations within the next 3 years.
  • Scalability: Easily scales from one to hundreds of fax ports as requirements increase.
  • Disaster Recovery: The deployment of assets for disaster recovery becomes simpler and more economical, as the elimination of dedicated hardware reduces the time required to bring the DR site online.

Quadrant Software also announced that they have joined the VMware Partner Network to integrate Quadrant products with VMware virtualization platforms and deliver timely, high-value solutions.

“We selected QuadraDocV because we wanted a virtual FoIP solution to integrate with our existing VoiP environment and it is the only product available that works in AS400/System i platform,” said Terry Diamond, vice president, I.S., Tandus Flooring, Inc. “Moreover, we like the idea of working with a trusted vendor, with proven technology and that is partnered with leaders in their respective industries. All of these factors, along with the inherent benefits of virtualization – high availability, disaster recovery and flexibility made Quadrant Software and QuadraDocV an obvious choice.”

New Director of Channels and Strategic Partners

Meanwhile, Quadrant announced the appointment of Barbara Snyder Martinez to the position of director, Channels and Strategic Partners. In her new role, Martinez will manage the planning and execution of worldwide alliance initiatives, partner strategy and overall channel opportunities tied to the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Barbara_Snyder_Martinez“Working in the document output industry, I was very familiar with Quadrant Software, their products and reputation for superb customer service, and had a great deal of respect for the organization,” said Martinez. “Under its new leadership, Quadrant Software is building upon this strong tradition and is doing some truly innovative things. It is an exciting time to be joining the Quadrant team and I look forward to expanding our existing partnerships and establishing new alliances that will carry us well into the future.”

Prior to Quadrant Software, Martinez held channel and business development positions at InfoPrint Solutions, IBM Printing Systems and the IBM Software Group. In those roles she was responsible for developing and expanding relevant channel initiatives and partnerships while increasing revenue streams. Martinez also held the role of software manager at the IBM Innovation Center for Business Partners as well as a variety of sales and sales management positions at IBM.

“Barbara Martinez brings the right combination of document and channel experience we need for this strategic role,” said Steve Woodard, president and CEO of Quadrant Software. “Channel relations and alliances are a significant focus for us and we’re confident that she not only has the right level of experience to ensure the current partners continue to prosper, but also that the new relationships we forge will as well.”
