A new Environments Administration module will enable companies to safely make enhancements to their business processes without affecting live data.

IntelliChief, LLC, a Quadrant Software company, has announced the release of its latest version of the IntelliChief paperless process management solution for the IBM Power Systems (System i / iSeries 400) and Windows enterprises. With IntelliChief, companies can create, capture, manage, archive, retrieve, and distribute documents electronically directly from their desktops and ERP applications.

IntelliChief Version 3.0 brings architectural changes to the product based on customer feedback and on the need for faster deployment timeframes. Highlights of this new release include the following:

Environments Administration
IntelliChief Release 3.0 brings important changes to the product's back-end architecture, the most important being the creation of three separate environments within the system: development, test, and production environments.

A new Environments Administration module allows system administrators to easily create new workflows, document processing profiles (DPPs), and other settings in a development environment completely isolated from the production database. They can then test those changes using a test environment, commonly referred to as the conference room pilot, where they can validate those changes before promoting the new settings into production.

"This enhancement sets IntelliChief apart from every other product on the market and will give system administrators the confidence to make important workflow changes without worrying about any unintended ripple effects," Daniel Kuperman, Quadrant marketing director, told MC Press Online at the recent COMMON conference in Orlando.

For companies that are already in production with IntelliChief, the volume of documents processed usually doesn't allow for any system downtime. The new Environments Administration module will enable those companies to safely make changes and enhancements to their business processes without risking or compromising their live data, Kuperman said.

Together with this new user interface for the management of different environments comes full reporting options that show all changes and system elements affected, which allows user review prior to promoting the changes into production. The report shows which elements (workflows, rules, alerts, DPPs, etc.) exist in each environment and if they differ, giving users instant feedback on how the changes will affect users operating within the production environment.

Promotion Control

Together with the new Environments Administration module, a Promotion Control function helps users identify the elements that will be promoted from Development to Conference Room Pilot, and from Conference Room Pilot to Production. Users can see on the screen each element and decide, with a mouse-click, which ones to promote. This gives users more control over what to change in their IntelliChief system and how such changes will affect the overall use of the product.

New Management Console

Access to system configuration including servers, services status, configuration options and more is now easier with a new management console screen that centralizes common system administration tasks in one single place. This speeds up IntelliChief system administration and provides an easier way for IntelliChief administrators to configure the system.

Windows 7 Support

The new IntelliChief Release 3.0 is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, both 32- and 64- bit versions.

Availability

Release 3.0 is available immediately and is free of charge to existing IntelliChief customers. Current customers can achieve significant savings and improvements in their business processes by taking advantage of the new release.
