IBM InfoSphere Global Name Management V5.0 (previously known as InfoSphere Global Name Recognition, Global Name Management) offers enhancements.

 

Introduces enterprise name service to improve search capabilities:

    • Distributed lists managed as a single list.
    • SOAP and REST web services.
    • Easier operation and maintenance for searching.
    • Supported user interfaces: List management, monitoring, configuration, and searching.
    • High availability and performance configurations.

 

Expands script transliteration rule sets for the Chinese language:

    • Accepts Chinese name input encoded in Han characters.
    • Matches Chinese Han names to each other and to their Roman equivalents.

 

Delivers custom culture support that enables highly skilled Global Name Management users to extend beyond predefined cultures.

 

Expands content within the Global Name Management Name Analyzer interface to generate detailed cultural information useful for investigating individual names as well as name cultures.

 

Improves the analysis and parsing of East Asian names to better handle name phrases.
