In June 2006, I started a new venture called iSeriesTV.com, a free Web site with news and information on the iSeries market, as well as video and audio podcasts. You can watch, read, or listen to any of the content at no charge, and currently no logon ID is required. Today, more than 10,000 visitors have logged onto iSeriesTV.com and had a look around.

What I'm trying to do with iSeriesTV.com (and yes, you can also get there by going to SystemiTV.com) is to start a new wave of excitement and community interaction in this market. I want to help bring the next generation of developers into the community by showing them not only industry news, but also the community networking opportunities that are available.

I've already broadcast live from a few iSeries customer sites, from RPG World in Las Vegas, and from the COMMON Conference and Expo in Miami Beach. I plan to report from the IBM Tech Conference later this month to give people who miss out on that event a taste of what they're missing.

My goal is to offer a new video podcast (referred to as a "show") each month and also post audio-only podcasts on various topics. And you can look forward to seeing other MC Press authors in upcoming audio podcasts. Currently, there is an audio podcast with CL book author Greg Veal, who joined me from the floor of the COMMON Expo to discuss what was happening. The podcasts are titled "Shoot'n iT" and will be available for subscription via Apple's iTunes store in the near future.

If you have any suggestions for an upcoming show or podcast or would like us to do a show from your location, just drop us an This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. at iSeriesTV.com.
