LANSA is pleased to announce that Peter Kastner, vice president and research director of the Aberdeen Group, will join David Brault, product marketing manager for LANSA Americas, for a one-hour Webcast on February 8, 2007. Business Drivers, Benefits and Recommendations for System i Modernization will focus on the issues that companies must deal with when facing the decision to modernize legacy applications.

Kastner, co-author of the Legacy Application Modernization Benchmark Report, will address modernization issues specific to the System i environment. Modernization strategies and lessons learned from organizations that participated in the Aberdeen study that formed the basis of the report will also be discussed. Brault will introduce RAMP from LANSA. RAMP is a completely new approach to modernization that moves the user interface into a graphical application framework, which serves as the basis for surrounding and extending the functionality using SOA and related technologies. According to the Aberdeen report, Best in Class companies can see an increase in ROI by up to two-thirds when opting to modernize older applications.
