"With fleets and transportation service providers around North America continuing to invest in technology to improve their business efficiencies, TMW Systems officials today announced the company finished the year 2008 by adding more than 160 new customers across the company's expanded product lines.
"Our success demonstrates that a diversified TMW is meeting varying needs throughout the transportation services industry. It's one of the reasons our year ended with a 30 percent increase in fuel purchase optimization licensing and a 20 percent increase in the number of new asset maintenance customers," noted President and Chief Executive Officer, David W. Wangler.
"Our business is designed to help companies in the transportation services space meet challenges head-on with industry defining solutions," added Wangler. "TMW is known for enterprise software that produces quantifiable business improvement throughout the trucking and logistics industry. However, this past year also allowed us to build on that reputation with state-of-the-art asset maintenance and optimization software."
According to Jim Fitzpatrick, equipment manager of Cortland, N.Y.-based Suit-Kote Corporation, his company chose TMW Asset Maintenance software after viewing the system in operation at some of TMW's existing users' facilities.
"We felt that what we observed was what we were trying to institute. The product capabilities along with competitive pricing were what our company was looking for," Fitzpatrick said. "We are hoping that the software program will allow us to operate more efficiently and also more cost effectively." Suit-Kote Corporation manufactures and distributes asphalt products.
"Against the backdrop of a tumultuous economy, particularly the volatile increases in fuel costs, TMW continued to win new business with forward-thinking companies taking advantage of the current economic downturn to prepare for future growth," said TMW's SVP sales, David Schildmeyer.
The following list of companies are some of those that became TMW customers for the first time or significantly expanded their relationship with TMW during the fourth quarter of 2008: Advantage NationalLease; Baltimore Tank Lines; BVB Logistics, a business area of Bekaert Regional Wire; Brady Trucking; Chambers Transportation; City Dash; Commercial Logistics; CRST International; Dominion Dedicated Logistics; Dynamic Transport; Fleetmaster Express; Forward Air; JAS Trucking; Kelle's Transport Service; Knight Transportation; Metropolitan Trucking; NATCO; PCW-Pacific Coast Warehousing; PMT Logistics; PVS Transportation; Ramwinn Diesel; Seward Motor Freight; Suit-Kote; Thompson's Moving Group; Truck PM Plus; Turner Brothers Trucking; United Supermarkets; UPS Freight Truckload and Walpole.
