Family of IBM Rational Integrated Development Environments V9.5 delivers significant new capabilities and adopts a new Eclipse level.
Versions 9.5 of the IBM Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) deliver significant new capabilities and other improvements to support application maintenance, development, and initial code quality assurance across a wide range of target platforms, languages, programming models and frameworks.
As of Versions 9.5 these products move onto Eclipse version 4.4.2 (Juno) and run on IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8.
This announcement covers the following IDE offerings:
- IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software
- Rational Developer for z Systems
- Rational Developer for i
- Rational Business Developer
- Rational Developer for the Enterprise.
Rational Developer for the Enterprise is a bundle offering that includes all of the other IDEs. As of Version 9.5, the following changes are introduced for Rational Developer for the Enterprise:
- The Rational Developer for AIX and Linux AIX COBOL Edition product is removed from the bundle, and remains at version level 9.1.1. It continues to be sold as a stand-alone product.
- The Rational Developer for AIX and Linux C/C++ Edition product is removed from the bundle, and remains at version level 9.1.1. It is withdrawn from marketing in Software Withdrawal Announcement 915-211, dated September 1, 2015.
- Floating User Single Install licenses are no longer offered for Rational Developer for the Enterprise. They are withdrawn from marketing in Software Withdrawal Announcement 915-211, dated September 1, 2015.
