ACOM Solutions has announced that its browser-based EZContentManager document management system is now available as a set of modules, allowing small/medium size businesses and corporate departmental units to convert to a paper-free centralized electronic document management environment quickly and affordably and to build it out with the functional modules as their business requirements change.

"Because of size and operational considerations, some companies might view the extensive capabilities of the full version of EZContentManager as beyond their immediate requirements," said Mark Firmin, senior vice president of marketing and product management.  "The modular version, EZContentManager 3.4.1, allows them to buy what they need, as they need it, tailoring their systems to their immediate requirements."

The basic engine of the modular version of EZContentManager is a two concurrent-user license that satisfies all conventional document management needs, including desktop storage, retrieval, distribution by integrated email and fax, retention controls, and multi-level secure access to stored documents.  An unlimited number of additional users can be added.

Other options, all available within the full version of the system, include:

         Process manager (workflow)

         Import utility

         Web services

         Version management

         Collaboration tools

         Multiple domain support

         Automated linking

"We encourage companies that can justify it financially and functionally to purchase the full system, since it is the most cost-effective way to acquire EZContentManager's full suite of capabilities," Firmin said.  "Nevertheless, those who do not have need for some of the more sophisticated features may find that their economies lie with the module-by-module approach."

EZContentManager resides on a Microsoft Windows platform and houses its documents in a Microsoft SQL Server relational database management system.  As a web-based document management system it is compatible with all computing platforms and software, storing and managing data from any internal or external source, with the special capability of accepting documents of any kind automatically and directly from other ACOM solutions. Auxiliary devices include a browser and a scanner for hard copy document input and internet connection.

"ACOM is known for helping companies capture the economies and efficiencies attainable through electronic document and management solutions," Firmin said. "Modularity is one way in which this can be achieved, as demonstrated by the widespread implementation of our EZPayManager and EZeDocs payment and document output solutions.  Both are available as complete or modular systems."
