Vormittag Associates, Inc. (VAI), an IBM Premier Business Partner and a leader in enterprise solutions for the distribution, manufacturing, retail, and service industries, has announced partnerships with B&C Management Systems, Inc. (BCMS) and Berbee Information Networks Corp., a CDW company.

The partnership with BCMS is to develop and integrate its 4Sight Retail Management System with VAI's S2K Enterprise for Retail solution. VAI has already begun work on the project, which includes integration and standardization of both systems.

Joe Scioscia, vice president of sales at VAI, said, "This strategic partnership further enhances our robust retail offering to customers worldwide. 4Sight's merchandising applications provide features such as detailed sales analysis, forecasting, open to buy planning, and apparel-based reordering."

Denis Blyth, vice president of sales at BCMS, said, "We are very pleased to partner with VAI and excited about the opportunity to bring our best-of-breed merchandising applications to VAI's customers. The integration of 4Sight with S2K Enterprise will provide an exceptional solution for retailers."

VAI's industry-focused software solutions help retailers integrate the systems they use to run and grow their businesses. VAI offers a complete solution for the retail industry including point-of-sale (POS), accounting, inventory management, CRM, purchasing, warehouse management, and e-commerce. S2K Enterprise for Retail software centralizes information across the entire organization, helping companies locate and move items more effectively, eliminate costly delays, and make more informed decisions.

The VAI-Berbee alliance allows VAI to sell its enterprise resource planning (ERP) application, S2K Enterprise, within CDW's product line and thereby increases its market share in the ERP arena. Berbee now has the ability to offer VAI's ERP applications running on the System i to its customer base.

Berbee has its headquarters in Madison, Wis., with 10 branch offices and data centers located in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. CDW is a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education.

Dan Bivona, sales director, VAI, said, "The VAI-Berbee alliance will bring VAI's software applications together with Berbee's sizeable client base and allow VAI entry into the CDW catalog, where VAI's specially packaged prices for the new IBM 515 server will specifically target smaller businesses. We also will pursue the traditional manufacturing, distribution, retail, warehousing, and Web solutions that address the needs of clients in the larger-sized enterprise space."

Michael Grone, IBM Systems i and z product manager at Berbee, said, "We are pleased to welcome VAI as a new business partner. This alliance will enable us to better serve our customers."
