Manta Technologies has announced a new series of online seminars titled, "Using RDi."

Rational Developer for i (RDi) is the newly announced replacement for WDSc. In this series, consultant and author Joe Pluta covers everything a user needs to know to get started with RDi. The series includes the following six seminars:

  •      Eclipse and the Rational Products for IBM i
  •      Eclipse and Rational Tool Fundamentals
  •      Migrating from PDM to RDi (Remote Systems Explorer)
  •      Migrating from SEU to RDi (the LPEX Editors)
  •      Compiling and Debugging Using RDi
  •      RDi Advanced Features

Joe Pluta has designed distributed architectures for the midrange platform for over 20 years. His company, Pluta Brothers Design, develops tools that allow System i users to incorporate emerging technologies seamlessly into their legacy systems, providing a direct path to new architectures.  Joe moderates the JAVA400-L mailing list and is a member of IBM's JTOpen Core Team. You can find Joe's Weaving WebSphere column at www.mcpressonline.com, and he is a regular participant in mailing lists and new groups on a wide range of topics surrounding the System i platform and Java in general.

Since Eclipse was introduced as the new tooling for the next generation of business applications, Joe has been using the product in a real application environment, performing testing and reporting bugs up to the release of the most recent version of the software. In this capacity, Joe has had close contact with Eclipse developers.

Like all seminars in the Manta Online Seminar Series, each of these classes is an online presentation that you can take at home or at work.  You can take any individual presentation for $96.  In addition, a downloadable handout is available with each seminar for an additional $10.  Alternatively, you can take the entire series of seminars for only $480, a savings of $96 over the individual price.
