A few of the more notable upgrades include import, runtime calculation, and graph definition interfaces.
Software tool developer mrc has announced multiple improvements to m-Painter, the WYSIWYG HTML editor built into m-Power. m-Power is software that rapidly creates Web applications such as report-writing, business intelligence, executive dashboards, e-commerce, customer portals, and wireless applications to name a few. m-Power is also used to modernize legacy applications in a fraction of the time other approaches might take.
m-Painter is an open-source WYSIWYG text editor that allows users to customize the look of their m-Power built Web applications without any knowledge of HTML or CSS. Recently, mrc upgraded m-Painter with additional features which will increase m-Painter's capabilities and ease-of-use. Some of the more notable upgrades include:
- An "import" interface has been added to m-Painter. It guides users through the process of importing applications into one another and assists in correctly building the import url.
- m-Painter now includes a runtime calculation interface which guides the user through building total time calculations like gross margins, percentages, etc.
- A graph definition interface has been added to m-Painter to guide users through the process of adding graphs to their application presentation.
- A map interface has been added to m-Painter to guide users through the process of adding interactive maps to their Web application presentation.
- Previously only accessible through Internet Explorer, m-Painter now supports the Firefox browser.
"The new upgrades simplify many tasks and give m-Painter greater flexibility," says Brian Crowley, mrc's director of Development. "But most importantly, I believe they will simplify the application development process even further for our users."
