ModelRight Inc. announced today the release of ModelRight 3.0, a database design tool that offers what the company says is unmatched, in-depth support for SQL Server developers and database administrators and also expands the product's already robust support for Oracle and MySQL database users.

Building on ModelRight's tradition of offering innovative database design support and user interface design, the 3.0 release introduces several features designed to help database administrators and others control their diagrams and manage their data models.

§       A diagram navigator provides a bird's-eye view of a database diagram and enables users to easily zoom, scroll and control their diagrams. The navigator tool is especially useful for anyone who works with large diagrams.

§      Mode-less database compare allows users to compare their models with their databases, and the two will synchronize as updates take place to the model.

§      Increased modeling capabilities with alias data types, independent defaults, check constraint domains, model-level pre and post scripts.

§      Greater connectivity and support for databases that are ODBC compliant.

§      Improved database support for Oracle 11, MySQL 6, SQL Server 2005 and 2008.

§      Many new and improved features like customized print page, an easier way to see and change the use of reusable objects (like tablespaces, filegroups, etc...), and improved mouse wheel diagram navigation.

"We put a lot of thought into the features our customers requested and what kinds of features would be most useful for other database designers," said Timothy Guinther, ModelRight founder and veteran developer of database-design software. Version "3.0 offers the most detailed, most complete support in the market right now," he said.
