The latest version incorporates the increasingly popular jQuery Javascript library.
CoralTree Systems has announced the availability of V4.12 of Renaissance Framework, a popular open source RPG developer's toolkit for the creation and deployment of robust, scalable and secure CGI-based applications on the IBM i on POWER platform.
This latest version of the Renaissance Framework incorporates the increasingly popular jQuery Javascript library (http://jquery.com), further enhancing the Framework's core functionality, and providing the foundation for incremental improvements based around various jQuery plug-ins in future Framework releases. In addition, the introduction of jQuery has helped to support the eradication of several other third-party scripts, making the Framework installation process much simpler and easier.
After more than three years of continuous improvement, the Framework provides a comprehensive set of tools with which any competent RPG developer can quickly and easily create world class System i application software. Moreover, that software can then be confidently deployed and executed in the most demanding business environments.
Kevin Turner, CoralTree technical director, said, "I am delighted by the way that the Framework continues to move forward— largely as a result of us using it for our own commercial software development, but also with contributions from the wider System i development community. We already have a major look-and-feel improvement scheduled for the next Framework release, and later this year we will be launching a variety of new Framework-associated services, ranging from classroom based training to on-site project mentoring."
The Renaissance Framework, including full source code, may be freely downloaded from the product website www.renaissanceframework.com. Also available at the same location are a running demo version of the Framework, plus access to the product support forum.
