IBM XIV Storage System offers a range of capabilities in this XIV management release that are designed to enable more effective XIV deployments into private cloud computing environments, management usability leadership maintenance, and improve multi system management experience with the following:

  • XIV Multi-System Manager 1.1 is designed to further drive operational efficiency for large and multi-site deployments, and provide integrated management and health monitoring of XIV systems across the enterprise
  • OpenStack Nova-Volume/Cinder driver
  • XIV Mobile Dashboard 1.2 enhancements: 1) Unified application for iPad and iPhone (XIV Mobile Dashboard application is available through Apple's App Store),   2) Integrated events display for intuitive and proactive health monitoring,  3) Enhanced performance and capacity views of multiple systems
  • GUI Globalization for Japanese: GUI localization enables clients in Japan to simplify management in native language
  • GUI usability improvements
