Hardware discount and vouchers for free setup and training offset the cost of the software solution.

SEQUEL Software has announced that IBM has added SEQUEL, a data access and analysis solution, to the IBM i Solution Edition marketing program. The Solution Edition program provides customers with an opportunity to purchase new POWER7 servers at significantly reduced prices when accompanied by the purchase of software from an IBM?certified business solution partner.

Currently, three IBM i POWER7 server configurations are available through the Solution Edition at discounted prices. To qualify for these discounts requires a minimum purchase of the software vendor’s software, which is more than offset by the Solution Edition hardware discount and the free setup and training vouchers from SEQUEL Software (see the data sheet, Benefits of the IBM i Solution Edition for SEQUEL).

“We believe that the IBM Power Systems team has recognized the value that SEQUEL adds to the midrange marketplace, offering great technology and ease-of-use for IBM i customers today. We look forward to working with IBM and its Power Systems customers, helping them to unlock the secrets hidden in the massive amounts of data stored in their IBM i systems to make their strategic planning easier,” said Doug Fulmer, channel partner manager for Help/Systems.

SEQUEL provides IBM i data access and analysis at a fraction of the cost and overhead associated with larger solutions. It fills a unique niche for customers that need to quickly turn massive amounts of data into useful information for strategic planning. SEQUEL dashboards and views (queries) deliver data in custom formats, with less cost, greater flexibility, and more efficiency than other solutions. SEQUEL is also the answer for custom reporting needs. And, because SEQUEL is a modular, seamless solution, users can start at any level and expand to suit their specific budget and data needs.

“We are pleased that IBM has chosen to add SEQUEL as a data access and analysis solution for Power Systems customers,” said Sheryl Quinlan, product support manager, SEQUEL Software. “This decision promises to be a win-win for anyone interested in combining the rock-solid stability and power of IBM i POWER 7 Systems with the fast, secure data access capabilities of SEQUEL.”
