Alchemy Solutions announces partnership with modernization services leader 5280 Solutions.

Alchemy Solutions, Inc. (www.alchemysolutions.com), provider of legacy modernization solutions to the .NET Framework, has today announced a strategic partnership with 5280 Solutions LLC (www.5280solutions.com), a provider of mainframe-to-.NET migration services and a Microsoft Gold Partner. As a value added distributor in the Alchemy Partner Program, which was also announced today, 5280 Solutions will use and resell Alchemy’s NeoSuite and NetCOBOL products in client engagements.

Alchemy Solutions’ market-leading software preserves and extends customers’ investments in their legacy mainframe systems by using innovative techniques during the migration process to prepare the applications to take full advantage of the .NET environment. 5280 Solutions, an award-winning provider of information technology products and services, provides a legacy modernization process that brings mainframe systems to .NET, using Alchemy’s NetCOBOL compiler and NeoSuite of tools to assist with the transition.

With core competencies in education lending software solutions, enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, and business intelligence, 5280 Solutions used NeoSuite to migrate their own education lending applications to the Microsoft .NET platform. Leveraging that experience, 5280 Solutions is now reselling NeoSuite and NetCOBOL to their customers and contacts in the financial industry who share the need to migrate to .NET. The use of Alchemy Solutions’ products has demonstrated success in reducing the risk inherent in the modernization process.

“Through the experience of transitioning our own mainframe systems, we quickly came to recognize Alchemy Solutions tools as fast, easy, and effective solutions for repositioning mainframe systems. Their compilers produce stable, reliable code and the pricing is realistic,” said Dominic Rotondi, executive vice president at 5280 Solutions. “Whether it’s our own system or that of a client, running systems on the most appropriate platform is critical. The process of modernizing while migrating translates to a solid business advantage.”

Members of the Alchemy Partner Program have access to a host of sales, marketing and training resources needed to successfully deliver Alchemy’s solutions in any corner of the world. They fit into four general categories:

  • System Integrators: consulting firms and service providers that operate as global or regional Systems Integrators, Solution Providers, VARs;
  • Distributors (Value Added Distributors: VADs): distributors who have specialized local knowledge, serve as channel aggregators, represent Alchemy in a geography, and provide pre and post sales support across the value chain in combination with their ecosystem of partners;
  • Strategic Alliances: global companies that support the execution of Alchemy’s and the Alliance partners' strategic initiatives
  • Technology Partners: Technology partners provide additional components of the Mainframe Migration process complementary to Alchemy’s technology offering (tool vendors, mainframe ISVs).

“The Alchemy Solutions Partner Program is a critical part of our business and product strategies,” said Ron Langer, vice president of sales and general manager for Alchemy Solutions. "Migrating legacy systems significantly decreases a company’s cost of maintaining mainframe technologies. Using Alchemy Solutions’ tools and 5280 Solutions’ proven Legacy Modernization Process, companies can experience a full return on investment in as little as six months. We look forward to working with 5280 Solutions to help more enterprises achieve this type of return.”
