Multiple enhancements are announced for IBM Power Systems POWER7 and POWER7+ technology-based servers:

 

  • New IBM Power 770, 780, and 795 static activations more easily enable mobile activations.
  • The PureFlex AIX Consolidation Solution (#EBX1) helps enable operational productivity and efficiency.
  • The single root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV) capability for POWER7+ 770 and 780 servers expands virtualization options.
  • Additional 10Gb Ethernet adapters (#EN0K/#EN0L/#EL3C) provide cabling flexibility.
  • Integrated multifunction cards for Power 770 and 780 servers (#EN10, #EN11) add configuration flexibility.
  • The Easy Tier function for the PCIe Gen 3 SAS adapter enables more cost-effective I/O performance.
  • Expanded support of the IBM Flash Adapter 90
  • Expanded SAS adapter support improves price/performance and expands configuration flexibility: PCIe Gen 3 for SSD/disk (#EJ0L and #EJ0J/#EJ0M/#EL3B)  and PCIe Gen 2 for SSD/disk (#ESA3)
