IBM System Networking RackSwitch G7028 offers a cost-effective 1 Gb Ethernet Layer 2 switching solution for data centers. It includes the following:

  • IBM System Networking RackSwitch G7028 (rear-to-front) (1455-24L)
  • Optional IBM System Networking RackSwitch G7000 Redundant Power Supply (RPS) (#EB2P)
  • Optional IBM System Networking RackSwitch G7000 1.8 m DC to DC RPS Power Cable (#ELC4)

 

The IBM System Networking RackSwitch G7028 is a low-cost entry-level 1 Gb Ethernet solution made specifically for the data centers with the following value propositions:

  • 1U Switch
  • 24 x RJ45 ports with 1 Gb support
  • 4 x SFP+/SFP ports with 1 Gb and 10 Gb support
  • Optional external power supply for redundancy
  • Server-like rear-to-front airflow
  • Rich Layer 2 software feature set with IBM Networking operating system
  • Low power consumption of 45 watts
  • Average port-to-port latency of 3.3 microseconds
