Multiple I/O enhancements are available for the Power Systems, including:

  • Refreshed PCIe2 SAS adapter offers energy savings and lower cost
  • Small form factor (SFF) (2.5-inch) solid state drive (SSD), both 387 GB and 775 GB
  • No-charge 387 GB SSD for new Power 770 and 780
  • IBM Flash Adapter 90 (#ES09) flash card for high performance
  • 1.2/1.1 TB 10,000 rpm disk drives
  • Power 795 GX++ 1-port 4X IB QDR Adapter 40 Gb
  • Support for the Solarflare SFN6122F and SFN5162F adapters on additional models
  • Additional function with IBM i for the 2-port async adapter
  • Enhanced HDD performance for IBM i with VIOS and large cache SAS adapters
