PistolStar Inc. recently introduced a new Notes ID Plug-In as part of Password Power 8 that enables Lotus Notes single sign-on and password recovery for users working offline, roaming, and in distributed computing environments.

The plug-In delivers access to Lotus applications anywhere and anytime through any LDAP directory and supports users on Citrix and Microsoft Terminal Servers.

Lotus Notes single sign-on is enabled through authentication redirection to Windows Active Directory or another LDAP directory, such as IBM Tivoli Directory Server, Sun ONE LDAP, OpenLDAP, and Novell eDirectory. By allowing Notes client access to Lotus applications using Active Directory credentials, the Notes ID Plug-in eliminates Notes ID file password management and password recovery.

ôWe develop and enhance our password management solutions with both the end-user and IT adminstrator in mind, realizing that simplifying the end-user's experience by offering flexible access will ultimately reduce the adminstrator's workload,ö states Gregg Browinski, chief technology officer, PistolStar Inc. ôNow that Active Directory and other LDAP directories can be utilized for Notes single sign-on and password management, end-users and administrators no longer need to concern themselves with the Notes ID file password and the task of recovering it when lost or forgotten. As a bonus, both parties experience tremendous time savings and increased productivity.ö

System Requirements
Included in Password Power 8, the Notes ID Plug-In is a client-side solution that supports Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP. Installation of the Notes ID Plug-In is seamless and does not require changes to Microsoft Terminal Server or Citrix.
