Survey project leader asks for broader participation in critical annual worldwide poll.
COMMON Europe’s sixth Top Concerns survey deadline has been extended to give users from around the world more time to participate. People now have until Friday, June 24, to take the survey that helps COMMON and IBM chart future strategies for development of IBM i, RPG, AIX, and Power Systems.
The annual Top Concerns survey is a regular feature of COMMON Europe. In addition to the "on-the-spot" survey conducted during the opening session of the recent Common Europe Congress, May 23--25 in Milan, Italy, the online survey is addressed to all Power i (System i, iSeries, AS/400) and AIX community members over the Web.
In 2010, COMMON Europe collected 573 survey forms from users interested in seeing the organization better serve its needs. But COMMON organizers say that figure is actually a bit low to have a meaningful survey.
"Last year's sampling was actually smaller than we would have liked it to be, and this year we must do far better to have a meaningful survey," says
"We need users to 'participate massively' in order for everyone to know and understand this year’s trends," he says.
Ranga notes that taking the 15-question survey requires only a few minutes yet "will make a huge difference in communicating our priorities to IBM and its channel partners," says Ranga.
Anyone who has an interest in the IBM i and Power Systems platform, is invited to participate in the survey. To do so, click HERE.
To those for whom the sheer pleasure of benefiting the community is insufficient motive, consider that in completing the survey form you are entering into a drawing to win a new Apple iPod! An iPod nano will be sent to one Web winner from each of the four following regions--Europe, North America, Africa and Australasia--whose form number is chosen by a neutral party. Three additional iPods were awarded to "on-the-spot" survey respondents at the recent Milan Congress.
A statistical analysis will rank the top 10 survey concerns chosen by Web participants along with recent Congress attendees. The results will be announced following the close of the survey. To view 2010 and prior year survey results, click HERE.
