UNIT4, the global business software group, today announced it will merge its two North American business operations - UNIT4 Business Software and UNIT4 CODA - effective January 1, 2013.
The combined unit, to be known as UNIT4 Business Software, will continue to offer an award-winning suite of products, including Agresso Business World, its flagship ERP suite for mid-sized organizations, and Coda Financials, its best-of-class financial management software. These products, used by hundreds of companies and organizations throughout the United States and Canada in such markets as retail, travel, education, financial services, not-for-profits, professional services, government and transportation and logistics, are ideally suited for fast-changing organizations that need to manage their business operations effectively. As a result of the merger, customers will benefit from greater coverage and support across North America, better global integration and additional product sets that can help them today and in the future.
In making the announcement, Jeremy Roche, Board Member of UNIT4 NV, said, “The two business units are performing well and have had a successful track record in attracting and retaining customers in key industries throughout North America. As they have grown, it became apparent that they could leverage their strengths even more effectively as one unit, just as our businesses that market Agresso and Coda Financials operate in the rest of the world.
“The combined UNIT4 Business Software gives us greater market presence and reach, allowing us to better serve our North American customer base. It also makes it easier for multinational customers to understand and purchase our solutions more easily,” Roche said.
Shelley Zapp, of Victoria, British Columbia-based UNIT4 Business Software, will serve as CEO of the combined organization. Steve Pugh of Manchester, N.H.-based UNIT4 CODA will act as president in an advisory capacity for the first half of 2013, after which he will retire from the company to pursue his passion for aviation.
“These two strong leaders have served UNIT4 admirably over the years and are working together to ensure a smooth and effective transition,” continued Roche. “Steve brings over 25 years of leadership and business growth to his new role, the last 12 serving as CEO of UNIT4 CODA in the U.S.
“Shelley has 13 years with the company, and has led her division to double-digit growth in recent years. Together they will work to make the new UNIT4 Business Software an even more important contender in the North American marketplace,” Roche concluded.
The new UNIT4 Business Software will operate out of its existing offices in Victoria, B.C., Manchester, N.H., and Lakewood, Colo. Learn more at www.unit4.com/na.
