HiSoftware, a provider of software, services, and managed operation solutions that monitor and optimize Web content governance, quality and regulatory compliance, has announced Compliance Sheriff SMB, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for validating, repairing, and monitoring Web governance standards-based and unique organizational policies for Web site accessibility, privacy, operational security (OPSEC), content defects, usability testing, search-engine effectiveness, site inventory and maintenance.

Gartner Group Analyst Bill Gasman, states, "Businesses and organizations of all sizes must be cognizant of Web governance and content quality. Content quality tools crawl through a Web site in a way similar to how a search engine spider works. Summary and drill-down reports indicate the overall quality and details of the problems found including accessibility, privacy, site consistency, and risk management. Government guidelines, such as Section 508 in the U.S., the threat of a lawsuit, and best practices advocate that Web site content be published so that users with special needs, such as the hearing- or sight-impaired, can have good access experiences. Auditors within organizations are starting to use Web site quality reports to manage corporate image risk."

Compliance Sheriff SMB allows executives, compliance managers, developers and content providers to test, validate, and audit Web content and transaction paths. As a hosted offering, the product can be configured and used with minimal user interaction. It can be scheduled to verify and audit content on a regularly scheduled basis, on-demand or as files change within the system. Reporting is achieved through an integrated digital dashboard. The dashboard reporting provides executives with easy access to summary-level reports, while providing more interactive and detailed drill-down capabilities for content providers and developers. Email notification can provide immediate workflow coloration across the organization's Web environment.

HiSoftware President and CEO Kurt A. Mueffelmann said, "Organizations of all sizes, both public and private, must take proactive steps to ensure their Web sites are compliant with a range of regulations as part of their online risk management strategy. With the SMB market accounting for 97 percent of all business globally, HiSoftware's Compliance Sheriff SMB gives organizations an easy, cost-effective way to successfully incorporate compliance testing into life-cycle content quality development, ensuring Web sites are compliant before they are published. This allows for greater revenue generation, risk management mitigation, and an overall increase in social responsibility. Paired with HiSoftware's ongoing Web compliance monitoring, the SMB offering provides a robust solution for enforcing and maintaining Web compliance and overall site quality. As a fully hosted SaaS offering, Compliance Sheriff SMB puts Web site compliance within financial reach of all types of entities."
