Noted author, business consultant, and longtime IBM i columnist shares secrets for driving innovative change.
System i Developer, the consortium of top educators on IBM i development technologies, has announced that renowned author, speaker, and change-facilitator Robert S. Tipton will deliver the keynote address at noon to attendees at the RPG & DB2 Summit March 26 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa. Returning to his roots in the IBM i market, Tipton will discuss effective methods for fueling innovative change drawn from his best-selling book JUMP! – Get Unstuck.
Each Summit attendee will receive a free copy of JUMP!, and Tipton will be available throughout the afternoon following the keynote to sign books, answer questions, and participate in discussions.
“At the last Summit, Roxanne Reynolds-Lair inspired us all with her ideas on bringing innovation to our shops" explains Jon Paris, System i Developer partner, “but most of us need help to become an 'agent of change.' That's why I was so thrilled that we were able to persuade Bob to join us at the Summit. He is an inspiring speaker and his background in the IBM i marketplace means that he understands our specific challenges. I can't think of anyone better to teach us these skills than Bob.”
Tipton shares Paris’ enthusiasm. "I can't wait to rub shoulders with everyone at the RPG & DB2 Summit this year. Yes, I've 'been away' for a few years, but my heart remains fully connected to the 'land of i' and I'm eager to share some powerful tools with everyone related to becoming 'agents of positive, forward progress.'"
According to Tipton, every person can unlock the “extraordinary power” of innovative change when it comes to driving higher levels of performance, joy, and results. To facilitate the process, Tipton has developed a set of tools and concepts that he will introduce and explain during his keynote address. The set includes:
- A nine-level model in the “Grief then Growth” Transformational Change Curve
- Eight techniques to overcome the “Great Barriers to Progress…”
- A four-stage innovative change model designed to accelerate energy and build powerful visions
The RPG & DB2 Summit will be held March 26-28 preceded by four "Headstart Seminars" at the same location March 25.
