Quadrant Software, a leader in paperless process management solutions for the iSeries/System i, has released a new version of its ChecksPack to include newly designed Canadian checks compliant with new check specifications.

ChecksPack is the pre-designed checks package for Formtastic, the electronic forms, laser MICR checks and labels solution from Quadrant. This new release is designed to help businesses in Canada comply with the latest check standards from the Canadian Payments Association (CPA). According to the CPA, "The new check specifications are a key part of an industrywide plan to modernize Canada's check clearing system through image technology." The CPA has strongly encouraged companies to comply by June 30, 2007 in preparation for the transition to the new clearing process.

The ChecksPack contains all the necessary design elements that the CPA will require in checks following the June 30th deadline. Companies utilizing Formtastic and the new ChecksPack will be able to quickly make the necessary changes in their check production process to comply in time with the specifications.

Equipped with advanced design tools, Formtastic is a program designed to help users create electronic forms, laser MICR checks, and RFID and thermal labels directly from their desktop. Using Formtastic with the ChecksPack will allow users to populate checks with data from their System i (iSeries) as well as plug in company logos and authorized signatures onto the new standard checks.

Formtastic integrates with all major application vendors including Oracle (JD Edwards), Infor (XA, Application Plus, and others), SSA Global (BPCS, PRMS, and Infinium), Lawson, and many more, the company says. No application programming or source code changes are required because Formtastic extracts and remaps data already available in spooled files.

For those who would like more information on the changeover, Formtastic, and the ChecksPack, Quadrant Software has made available an educational webinar focusing on the new specifications. You can view this complimentary webinar by visiting www.quadrantsoftware.com/CPAcheck.
