Systems Advisory Services (SASIT), a New Zealand-based IBM Business Partner, has announced a technology partnership with Vision Solutions to protect applications and information of customers using IBM Power Systems platforms.

"Vision Solutions' innovative technologies add value in the areas of infrastructure management and business continuity/high availability, reducing staffing requirements and risks associated with system outages," says Phil Martin, SASIT chief executive officer. "We are excited about this partnership, as we already have a number of customers using Vision products and have been impressed by the sophistication and capabilities that the Vision products deliver. For SASIT, it was a natural progression to move to a formal reseller status to ensure that we could provide additional support to our customer base, and also take these solutions to the wider market."

There are several Vision products SASIT is recommending to its customers including iTERA HA, ORION, Director and EchoStream. These solutions provide technologies that increase the resiliency and recoverability of data. With these solutions, a business can recover quickly from a disaster without loss of data as daily transactions, changed objects, and saves are automatically sent to an alternate system and protected. Companies can also do daily backups and saves without operational downtime and recover lost data in the event it is inadvertently cleared or corrupted. Additionally, SASIT will offer hosting services and can provide systems integration capabilities to interested customers. SASIT is primarily a services business, and as such can offer value with these Vision based products.

"Users of comprehensive business systems, especially in a world where e-commerce has the capability of generating revenue 24 hours a day, seven days a week, realize their successful business operations are highly driven by the on-demand availability of the information and data they contain," says Allan Campbell, Vision Solutions' vice president of Sales. "Disruptions caused by natural disasters or man made ones, as well as planned downtime for backups or system maintenance can have a devastating and perhaps permanent effect on an organization's ability to conduct business. For many companies, exposure to potential downtime is unacceptable. Vision Solutions' business resiliency technologies have been built to address this need."

Richard Tee, Vision Solutions' regional sales director for South Asia Pacific, says, "SASIT is focused on delivering business-based outcomes, which fits perfectly with the focus of Vision Solutions and Vision products. This partnership provides the answer to a critical need by ensuring continued business operational excellence and unsurpassed data protection."
