IBM's Asia Pacific System i brand team has selected Vision Solutions to receive the IBM General Manager's Award for outstanding performance in 2006, the company announced this week.
The award was presented at the IBM System i Strategic Planning Conference in Macau, on August 14. Vision Solutions' Chief Executive Officer Nicolaas Vlok accepted the award on behalf of the company.
"We are proud to present this award to Vision Solutions Inc.,...internationally recognized as a leader in the field of high-availability and disaster-recovery software," said Han Chung Heng, business unit executive and general manager of IBM's System i platform in the Asia Pacific region, based in Shanghai. "Vision Solutions' influence on the market is making business resiliency possible for thousands of companies, while positively and dramatically impacting the System i ecosystem."
Vlok said he was honored to accept the award and added, "We are extremely committed to providing the world's most innovative information availability management solutions. This honor is an appreciated reflection of each dedicated member within our company."
While in Macau, Vlok spoke at the strategic planning conference about the future of high availability, both as a technology and as an industry, including why the HA industry is set to expand significantly within the region.
