After a strong year of growth, Zend, the PHP Company, is significantly expanding its sales team and channel partner program. In 2012, Zend welcomed 4,000 new customers and grew revenue from subscriptions to enterprise site licenses by 45 percent. To build upon that momentum, Zend has hired a new vice president of field operations for the EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) region, is growing its sales team by 50 percent globally, and is welcoming new partners to its global channel partner program.

"Since the release of the latest version of Zend Server in February, we've seen increasing momentum in customer demand" said Zend CEO Andi Gutmans. "Our platform is powering the next generation of mobile and cloud-based enterprise PHP applications, which is why interest in our solutions continues to grow. We're excited to better serve our burgeoning community of Zend users, particularly in the rapidly-growing EMEA region and globally through our channel partners."

Zend's new Vice President of EMEA Field Operations Paul Holt will play an important role in serving the EMEA region, where he will lead Zend's sales teams based across Europe, and further develop the Zend channel partner program in EMEA. Holt has deep experience in the cloud- and open source space, as well as EMEA sales. Holt brings a strong background in open source, cloud and infrastructure technologies having held executive sales positions at Springsource, Canonical, and Red Hat where he led and developed Northern Europe into one of the most successful territories for the company.

"Zend is the established leader in PHP, and I'm looking forward to being part of a team that delivers the best platform for building and managing enterprise grade mobile and web apps, said Holt. "I'm proud to play a role in delivering this solution's benefits to Zend's growing global market."

The Zend Channel Partner Program: Better than Ever

Zend partners play an important role in providing Zend Server to users as part of a turnkey solution for developing, deploying and automating web and mobile applications, in the cloud and on-premise. Solution partners are key to Zend's sales and support network, providing expertise and knowledge to successfully help Zend clients develop and deploy applications written using the PHP language.

"Our partners play a critical role in selling and deploying Zend Server, the world's leading Web application server for running business-critical PHP applications" said Siddhartha Agarwal, Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Zend. "Working with channel partners to enable them to share in Zend's success is one of our company's top initiatives for 2013. Our partners are our secret weapon; with them we've continued to gain momentum around the world, and grow revenue consistently quarter- over-quarter. We are excited that the Zend channel program is gearing up to offer an extended set of benefits and welcome a broader set of new partners in 2013. "

"Ever since we partnered with Zend, we've been able to leverage Zend's brand, market awareness and reputation. Over the period that we've been working together, we've grown our business by almost 400%," said Eduardo Dávila, CEO of NetMX, Zend's 2012 Solution Partner of the Year. "Zend has been highly supportive throughout the process, and they have really been the ideal partner in helping us serve a wider enterprise community."

"Zend has helped us build better solutions for our customers," said Lavanya Rastogi, CEO of OSSCube, the 2012 Zend System Integration Partner of the Year. "Zend Server's ability to help us build and run mobile and web apps has increased the breadth and quality of our solutions, particularly in the area of mission-critical enterprise apps. We are particularly proud to be a Zend certified Center of Excellence. "

The Zend Solution Partner program offers a variety of benefits including partner-specific technical support and resources, in-depth sales and technical training, significant sales incentives, access to a dedicated partner portal for marketing and sales materials, use of Zend software for development purposes, and the ability to partner tightly with Zend sales and technical resources to address new client opportunities. In addition every partner is able to send a number of team members to participate at ZendCon, the leading PHP conference in the world, which will take place October 7-10, 2013 in Santa Clara.

The Solution Partner Program offers three levels of participation

  • Zend Select Partner - is an entry point for companies looking to develop a profitable PHP practice.
