Avnet Technology Solutions, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. has announced an agreement to team with VDoc Software, which provides collaborative software solutions that accelerate the flow of information between people, documents and applications.

Under the agreement, Avnet will provide its IBM-focused value-added resellers and independent software providers in the U.S. with market enablement services, such as marketing and education programs. Through the new relationship, Avnet will also help the European-based VDoc expand into the growing U.S. market for collaborative solutions.

"Our partners are constantly looking for new ways to solve their customers' business challenges," said Tony Madden, senior vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, IBM Solutions group. "With solution offerings such as VDoc, partners can help their customers collaborate and automate business processes, directly improving efficiency and operational performance. VDoc is a unique collaborative suite that provides four core solutions--portal, business process management, document management, and Web content management--in one fully-integrated product. Each module is designed to help business managers or business analysts automate processes without programming. The modular approach allows users to start with any component of the suite and extend it afterward. VDoc also provides a catalog of pre-packaged collaborative applications, such as purchase and expense reimbursement requests, that can be adapted to address core business needs.

"Avnet has a solid track record of providing partners with the tools they need to target and cultivate high-potential markets such as ours," said Roch Auburtin, CEO VDoc Software USA. "The U.S. market offers a tremendous opportunity to build upon our success in Europe and help a new set of companies realize the power that comes from easily sharing the information and knowledge among their departments, mobile employees, partners, suppliers and customers."

VDoc Software integrates with IBM technology and is designed to be easy to implement and maintain. It operates in Windows, Linux, Unix and iSeries environments. With more than 10 years of business process management, VDoc has more than 450,000 users and received IBM's 2007 Best Mid-market Solution award.

"Solutions focused on the collaborative market provide a great door opener with customers," said Jorge Quintero, president, QCM Technologies. "They allow us to immediately zero in on our customers' business challenges and to then identify the best technology solutions to meet their needs. With Avnet and VDoc's new relationship, we'll be able to target the growing collaborative market and expand our consulting services as we help customers automate processes around collaboration."
