Maxava, a global leader in IBM i high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) software, today announced a special offer for new customers in support of IBM i User Groups.
Effective immediately, Maxava is offering to make a support contribution of $250 (USD or local equivalent) to any not for profit IBM i User Group on the nomination of a group member whose organization purchases Maxava HA software.
"As a company which is dedicated to IBM i and committed to the continuing success of the platform, Maxava recognizes the role of a strong, IBM i community," said Allan Campbell, CEO of Maxava. "In 2011 we established the Maxava iFoundation to provide grant assistance to organizations supporting and promoting the IBMi community. The feedback from that has been very positive but has indicated that more needs to be done. While there are obvious constraints on the level of direct grant funding we can provide, this initiative allows us to extend our support a little further".
This newly announced offer is distinctly separate from Maxava iFoundation which provides grants to IBM i interest groups for the general promotion and free exchange of knowledge, ideas and skills related to IBM i.
Unlike the support provided by the Maxava iFoundation, Maxava's new cash contribution offer is aligned to new sales of Maxava HA software.
"While this offer is not designed to directly impact sales, we are aiming to encourage more customers to consider Maxava HA for their business continuity needs" said Andrew Clews, Maxava VP Marketing. "We find that when customers evaluate our software we generally win their business. This offer provides an opportunity to encourage customers to do that while allowing us to further support the IBMi user community that we all rely on" he added.
