Enhancements to the IBM Control Language may inspire users to seek a technology tune-up.
Since i5/OS V5R3, IBM has devoted considerable resources to improving the IBM Control Language (CL). Following are just a few of the things that have been added to the language:
• New flow control commands, including DOWHILE, DOUNTIL, DOFOR, and SELECT
• New data types, including integers (*INT and *UINT) and pointers (*PTR)
• CL subroutines
• The ability to INCLUDE CL source code from other members
• The easing of various size limits
• Multiple file support
Manta Technologies has kept pace with these changes as they occurred, and the company is pleased to announce that the CL Programming series now reflects the newest release of the IBM i operation system—7.1.
As with all Manta courses, current online customers with a license to the CL Programming series have already received the updates. This occurred automatically and at no additional charge as soon as the updates became available.
For those who wish to bring their CL programming skills up to date, they can visit the Manta website, www.mantatech.com, or contact Manta at 800-40-MANTA (800-406-2682). International customers can call 303-862-4562.
