nuBridges, Inc., has certified its file transfer and data protection software products for V6R1 and also announced that its managed file transfer solution has been certified interoperable on the Applicability Statement 3 (AS3) standard by the Drummond Group.
A veteran provider of leading secure file transfer and data protection products to the System i marketplace and a five-year IBM Business Partner, nuBridges obtained an early release version of i5/OS V6R1 in 2007 to begin development and testing. nuBridges' solutions are ready to help companies connect, protect, and comply the moment they implement V6R1.
"Businesses transitioning to an updated operating system release can experience security breaches or application failures if their security solutions don't work immediately, exposing them to risk and damages," says Gary Palgon, vice president of Product Management for nuBridges. "We have pre-certified our software products on the i5/OS V6R1 platform so that customers transitioning to the new operating system have secure connections and uninterrupted data protection starting day one."
The new i5/ OS V6R1, released on March 21, offers enhanced flexibility, scalability, efficiency and security for IBM's popular and dependable System i server line. nuBridges has thousands of customers on the platform including many who use nuBridges encryption and key management products to comply with important mandates such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
"i5/OS V6R1 includes new OS-level security features," says Palgon. "Coupled with nuBridges' connectivity and encryption solutions, our customers can protect sensitive data at rest, and transfer data inside or outside the firewall with end-to-end control, security and visibility. It's a perfect combination."
nuBridges also announced that its managed file transfer solution has been certified interoperable on the Applicability Statement 3 (AS3) standard by Drummond Group, Inc. For the first time an optional test certifying Very Large Message (VLM) Exchange capabilities was introduced during the AS3-1Q08 test round. The nuBridges solution was also certified on the VLM Optional Profile.
"nuBridges recognizes the importance of interoperability testing to ensure that our software products continue to meet the most current level of security requirements in the industry," says Palgon. "Given the increased focus on managed file transfer within enterprises and between business partners, nuBridges is pleased to earn Drummond certification for Very Large Message Exchange in addition to our AS3 interoperability certification."
Drummond Certified AS3 Very Large Message Exchange is a unique distinction for software products. Software buyers understand that interoperability certification is critical to successfully exchange Very Large Messages. "I am excited to see the AS3 standard continue to evolve to serve the needs of industry," added Rik Drummond, CEO, Drummond Group. "I highly commend the hard work of the software vendors involved in this AS3-1Q08 to achieve this."
