Expanded IBM Rational product integration is available for customers who practice Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) by using PTC Windchill PDMLink for Product Data Management (PDM).

Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters for Windchill V1.0.1 now allow customers to analyze and visualize Change Management (CM) information that stems from both Windchill and Rational Team Concert™ by using Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager. The new adapters implement Tracked Resource Sets (TRS) that leverage established CM Provider interfaces, which use open standards defined by Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC). These technologies allow customers to:

    • Establish visibility across disparate tools.

    • Issue queries that produce a composite view of CM data.

    • Bridge the gap between Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and PLM disciplines.

Such integration extends support for the Unlocking Engineering Knowledge element of the overall IBM Continuous Engineering solution whereby systems and software engineers have ready access to all engineering data relevant to their jobs regardless of source.
