HiT Software Inc., a leading provider of real-time data integration, data synchronization, and data access products has announced the availability of DBMoto 6.1, the company flagship real-time data-movement product that replicates, migrates, and synchronizes data among heterogeneous databases.
With this latest release, DBMoto adds real-time data replication from data stored in DB2 on midrange and mainframe computers and in MySQL. With the release, HiT Software enables customers to build bridges between corporate databases such as DB2 for i5/OS, DB2 for z/OS or Oracle, and staging databases like Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or Ingres.
Companies can maintain their corporate databases as their main data repository but expose specific data sets through databases with a lower TCO for ecommerce and data warehouse applications. Fully customizable, DBMoto provides a high-performance, standards-based, secure system for companies that need to move data between relational databases.
Easy to install, configure, and use, DBMoto is an ideal vehicle for securely replicating legacy information systems to widely available, cost-effective platforms, the company says.
"With DBMoto, companies can minimize impact to their mission critical production systems, while meeting the needs of their end users, customers and partners to access valuable data," said Giacomo Lorenzin, CEO of HiT Software. "By adding DB2 for z/OS and MySQL to the list of databases available for synchronization in DBMoto, HiT Software demonstrates its commitment to make DBMoto the best product for reliable data replication and synchronization, even for large volumes of data."
DBMoto 6.1 Highlights
DBMoto 6.1 offers a number of powerful new features including:
- Transactional replication capabilities (mirroring and synchronization) for DB2 for z/OS (mainframe) and i5/OS (midrange), DB2 UDB (Linux, Windows, AIX, Solaris, HP/UX), MySQL, and ANTs.
- Improved performance for Microsoft SQL Server snapshot replication
- A wizard to move replications from one database/catalog/schema to another
- Improved mechanisms for managing replication feedback, e.g., options for email notifications, replication activity log accessible as a database or via the Windows event viewer, APIs to manage specific replication error conditions such as connection timeouts
- Additional features for flexibility in the replication scheduler
