Users can upgrade to Windows 7 and continue using BOSaNOVA's secure TN5250 emulation solution for the desktop.
BOSaNOVA, a 10ZiG Company, and distributor of iSeries connectivity products as well as a developer of thin client peripherals and network appliances, has announced the release of BOSaNOVA Secure V8.
BOSaNOVA Secure is a secure TN5250 emulation solution for the desktop providing SSL and SSO (Single Sign ON) with Kerberos. The release of BOSaNOVA Secure V8 builds on the foundation of the previous version but now is compatible with Windows 7. In addition with this release, a new 64 bit installation is also available. BOSaNOVA Secure 8 requires IBM i V3R2 or greater (IBM i V5R2 or greater for SSL and SSO) and is fully compatible with IBM i 7.1.
“We have invested time and resources into our BOSaNOVA System i connectivity products since acquiring them last year,” said Martin Pladgeman, BOSaNOVA president. “We are excited about this new release and anticipate other developments with our BOSaNOVA product line this year.”
BOSaNOVA Secure is an all-in-one solution for completely secure iSeries emulation, delivering security from the workstation through the secure net to the organization level. BOSaNOVA Secure employs iSeries technology and tools so that no application adaptations are required and employees continue to work in their familiar environments. It allows enterprises to leverage their technological investment with a minimum of effort.
BOSaNOVA Secure provides Windows and Citrix users on a TCP/IP or Twinax network with robust TN5250e emulation, native iSeries file transfer services, convenient network printing (LPD), and SCS printing emulation. BOSaNOVA Secure attaches directly to the network with no need for a router and is especially easy to install, configure, and use. The product is designed to work transparently with remote LAN access products such as those available from Lynk, Shiva, IBM, and Cisco.
BOSaNOVA Secure 8 is available immediately. MSRP pricing for a single web download license is $129. The upgrade is free for customers currently under maintenance.
Pladgeman told MC Press Online at COMMON that the company is also currently working on a 32-bit Windows 7 compatible version of BOSaNOVA Plus that will be coming out soon. He said they will evaluate whether to introduce a 64-bit version depending upon user demand. Pladgeman said that BOSaNOVA is committed to supporting its customers and providing them with an upgrade path, which is why the company is investing in the Windows 7 emulation product upgrades.
