Software AG launches Software AG Live, the first cloud-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) suite. With this launch, Software AG is now extending its offering from enabling enterprise-wide and on-premise solutions to creating agile and cloud-based applications through a comprehensive PaaS suite in the cloud.  Subject matter experts and IT professionals across organizations are now empowered to design and develop agile applications, while easily integrating existing systems.

Organizations are pressed more than ever to develop and deploy agile, scalable and secure solutions within days, rather than months.  To address the changing needs of the business environment a new set of solutions is needed to engage better with customers and leverage the impact the industry is seeing by the megatrends of cloud, social, mobile and big data.

By extending its business process and integration leadership to the cloud, Software AG is now offering a complete PaaS suite, unifying process design, agile application development and integration, while enabling customers to utilize hybrid cloud deployments to support their business needs.

“Software AG has been a strategic partner of Coca-Cola Enterprises for many years and was the vendor we trusted to help us explore digital strategies spanning the cloud and on-premise,” said Esat Sezer, CIO and senior vice president at Coca-Cola Enterprises. “As we continue to move to the cloud, we are looking forward to leveraging Software AG’s extended native cloud capabilities, helping us to become more flexible and achieve our business goals faster.”

According to a May, 2013 Gartner Inc. forecast, revenue for PaaS is growing from $1.2 billion in 2012 to $3.5 billion in 2017. Within the PaaS market, application infrastructure and middleware makes up the largest subsegment comprising 72% of the market.

“As the industry has evolved, we’ve seen the needs of our clients change with it,” said Karl-Heinz Streibich, CEO of Software AG. “With this launch, we are welcoming the next phase of Software AG, to help our customers create a truly digital enterprise and embrace the opportunities that cloud deployments offer.”

The Software AG Live suite is comprised of:

  •          AgileApps Live is a high-productivity application PaaS, implemented on technology from recently acquired LongJump, Inc. With AgileApps Live organizations achieve business-driven innovation managed by IT. This new offering provides unique flexibility to adapt to changing business processes, regulations and other business needs. All applications built on AgileApps Live instantly deploy on mobile devices and come with pre-build integration across social networks. AgileApps Live is available immediately.
  •          Process Live, a collaborative business process analysis PaaS, enables users to collaborate across departments and geographies to improve requirements management and design of business processes. Process Live is compatible with Software AG’s market-leading ARIS Business Process Analysis platform and will be available in the second half of 2013.
  •          Integration Live is an integration PaaS which enables cloud-to-cloud integration and seamlessly connects with private cloud or on-premise Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) installations. Integration Live is offering an unmatched combination of ease-of-use and enterprise-strength and is compatible with webMethods Integration Server, the market leading ESB from Software AG. Availability is scheduled for Q1 of 2014.

In addition, Software AG announces Dynamic Cloud Scaling, a new capability of Software AG’s webMethods Integration Server that supports elastic scaling across hybrid deployments – public cloud, private cloud and on-premise - and will be available in the second half of 2013. Customers will have the choice of managing deployments themselves or taking advantage of Software AG Managed Suite. This new offering includes components such as the webMethods Integration Server managed by Software AG as-a-service in customer’s data centers or on the public cloud. This offering will also be available later in the year.

Software AG is the only company to offer this comprehensive suite of business process, integration and big data solutions enabling the rapid creation of enterprise-wide and on-premise to lightweight and cloud-based applications.
