Analyst firm IDC notes that in order to innovate and be competitive, organizations need to provide the right tools, culture, and IT ecosystem for these individuals to communicate and collaborate. With a growing demand from businesses for a wider variety of collaboration tools, this week IBM launched new affordable and reliable cloud email for $5 per user per month.

LotusLive Notes provides the same robust security features that users of the IBM Lotus Notes and multi-tenanted Domino technology rely on, according to IBM.

Businesses and partners of all sizes from around the world are choosing IBM LotusLive for cloud-based, integrated email, Web conferencing, social networking and collaboration services. Available today and starting at $5 per user per month, LotusLive Notes joins the www.lotuslive.com cloud collaboration suite, providing a single point of access to e-mail, calendaring, and contacts from the IBM cloud. LotusLive Notes can integrate with existing e-mail and other applications to complement and extend them, not replace them. And more importantly, LotusLive Notes supports hybrid on-premises and cloud deployments and enables directory synchronization and access to application and mail workflows between on-premises directories and the cloud.

LotusLive Notes enables users to access email almost immediately, through either the full, rich Notes client or via browser experience. The new email is supported by a dedicated IBM team and features a service level agreement, spam and virus filtering, and backup and restore services. LotusLive Notes can easily be combined with LotusLive iNotes for boundary workers needing only basic e-mail and calendaring tools.

In addition to the launch of LotusLive Notes, IBM today also announced the availability of a new suite of email and social networking in the cloud. Starting at $10 per user per month, the new bundle provides enterprise-class email with LotusLive Notes bundled with LotusLive Engage Web conferencing, social networking and file store and share services that simplify and improve daily business interactions with colleagues, customers and partners.
