Subscribers have access to a fully managed network intrusion detection solution for Amazon Web Services.

Alert Logic, a leader in delivering Security-as-a-Service for the cloud, today announced the general availability of Alert Logic Threat Manager and ActiveWatch for Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS customers using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) interested in an added layer of network protection can cost-effectively enhance the protection of their networks against threats by subscribing to Alert Logic's fully managed vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection solution.

Beginning immediately, customers can subscribe to Alert Logic Threat Manager and Alert Logic ActiveWatch for Amazon EC2 directly from Alert Logic. Threat Manager gives customers the ability to add vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection to their infrastructure running on the AWS platform. Alert Logic Threat Manager provides subscribers the ability to automatically aggregate and correlate anomalous behavior patterns to quickly identify threats and attacks to their network by leveraging Alert Logic's patented expert system, which includes 7-Factor Threat Scenario Modeling, purpose-built grid computing infrastructure and API-driven provisioning capabilities. Subscribers may also sign up for ActiveWatch, which provides 24x7 monitoring and expert guidance services from Alert Logic's Security Operations Center (SOC) staffed by certified security analysts.

"Alert Logic's Security-as-a-Service offering for Amazon Web Services is a network intrusion solution built from the ground-up to support Amazon EC2 and provide this mandatory component of PCI compliance,"said Misha Govsteyn, vice president of Emerging Products at Alert Logic. "Alert Logic has a long heritage of developing solutions to secure hosted and cloud environments and we're now able to automatically adapt to rapidly changing cloud environments and support the dynamic nature of Amazon EC2."

Today's announcement follows months of successful trials, the company said. Element115.net uses Amazon EC2 to provide Web-based content management services for security conscious buyers in the healthcare, retail and financial services industries. Amazon Web Services provides the ideal platform to cost effectively scale with their customers.

"After a lot of consideration, we migrated to Amazon Web Services to achieve cost efficiencies and elastic scalability, but we were mindful that our customers entrust us with not just delivering application availability, but also advanced data security," said Venkatesh Korla, CEO of Element115.net. "We are impressed with Alert Logic's ability to cost effectively satisfy the demands of our customers for advanced network security services in the Amazon Web Services environment."

"We are pleased to have Alert Logic as an AWS Solution Provider focused on enhancing security for customers," said Terry Wise, director of Business Development, Amazon Web Services. "Security is paramount, and with our shared-responsibility security model, customers are able to choose a solution that best meets their applications' needs, while AWS remains focused on providing secure, on-demand, pay-as-you-go cloud infrastructure."

Alert Logic's Security-as-a-Service solutions provide customers four distinct advantages: market-leading security tools, a fully outsourced and managed SaaS delivery model, integrated 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) services to monitor and provide expert guidance, and the ability to deploy wherever a customer has IT infrastructure—including the cloud.
