GS1 GDSN (Global Data Synchronization Network) continues its steady growth. The GDSN is a global, Internet-based solution that enables suppliers and retailers to synchronize product data, resulting in a single view of master product data across the supply chain. Hence, companies quickly realize cost savings and increased efficiency. Benefits include decreased invoice disputes, reduced order discrepancies, reduced shipping errors, lower transportation costs, faster speed to market for new products, and fewer out-of-stocks.

GS1 has introduced a new standard for interoperability between data pools and the GS1 Global Registry: BMS 2.1 (Business Message Standard version 2.1) for Item Synchronization. GS1 GDSN, Inc. is pleased to announce that 24 data pools will be offering solutions compliant with this new standard. The certification tests were performed by the Drummond Group Inc, a leading interoperability and conformance testing company.

"Certified data pools offer a single point of access for companies to leverage the benefits of the GS1 Global Registry. Together we operate the GDSN which allows companies to increase efficiency and lower the costs of operating their supply chain " said Sally A. Herbert, President GS1 GDSN, Inc GDSN certified data pools include both data pools operated by independent solution providers and data pools operated by GS1 Member Organizations.
