Infravio is The SOA Governance Company. Infravio's flagship product, X-Registry Platform enables organizations to deliver Software as a Service (SaaS) and Business Services both internally and to customers, suppliers and partners. The X-Registry Platform consists of a UDDI version 3 Registry, an SOA Policy Repository and powerful SOA Lifecycle Governance features. Infravio was founded in 1999, based on a research project at the Stanford University department of Computer Science, where founder Mukund Balasubramanian was conducting graduate studies. This research was the basis for the patents on Contract-Based Enterprise Software Delivery, the technology underlying Service Delivery Contracts™. The company is headquartered in Cupertino, California, just down the street from Apple Computer. Its primary development center is in Chennai India. The founders of the company are from Chennai, which enables the company to leverage the in-house cost of development, while attracting world class developers. Infravio's thought leadership in Web Services and SOA helped it raise significant investments from some of Silicon Valley's venture capital firms and "Angel" investors including Walden international, Crystal Ventures and NetIQ Corporation. The combination of strong venture capital funding and low cost development has enabled Infravio to invest over 100 person-years in SOA product development.
