Company replaces IBM Domino Fax for i with Quadrant Software’s FastFax for Domino solution.
Quadrant Software has announced that Roto Rooter has implemented FastFax for Domino for to format and deliver mission-critical documents through Lotus Notes.
Prior to the implementation, Roto Rooter depended on IBM Domino Fax for i for sending and receiving documents from its email client. With support soon ending for IBM Domino Fax and the product being withdrawn from market, the Roto Rooter needed to quickly find a replacement solution. IBM and Midrange Solutions, an IBM Business Partner, recommended Quadrant Software. "I remembered that our Des Moines location uses Formtastic, so I called them and they were quite happy with the support they have received from Quadrant Software," says Amy Bishop, tech support at Roto Rooter.
The transition from IBM Domino Fax for i to FastFax for Domino was seamless, according to the company. "The implementation went really smooth. The base of the product and setup were very similar," says Dave Stall, i5 Hardware and Operating Systems manager for Roto Rooter. "Our users don’t even know we made the switch. It was seamless for them. The only thing they know is that faxes no longer come in as TIFs… they are PDFs. I have not had one phone call questioning what we had done."
Roto Rooter, the largest provider of plumbing and drain cleaning services in North America, has its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, with hundreds of locations and franchises around the country. The company depends on the Quadrant Software solution to receive and distribute orders, POs, and other crucial customer correspondence.
"FastFax for Domino has a lot more flexibility than what we used to have and gives us much more control," says Stall. "We haven’t had to touch the product since we had it up and running. That’s a good thing around here."
