The company says the agreement was signed, hardware installed, and software configured, including more than a dozen document definitions completed, all within 30 days.

Lipari Foods, Inc. has licensed S4i’s electronic document management (EDM) package, S4i Express, to automate previously manual processes and migrate from current installations, according to S4i.

Lipari Foods is a regional wholesale food distributor located in Warren, Michigan, and distributes a wide range of quality deli, bakery, seafood, confections, grocery, packaging, and food service products in more than 10 states in the Midwest and surrounding areas.

“Lipari is using pioneering methods in the way we will be allowing our users, including employees, customers, and vendors, to retrieve documents from within their current business applications," said Michael Hegarty, Lipari’s director of Vendor Programs. Lipari's goal in implementing a document management system was to minimize the amount of paper being handled by people in the office.

"We will also replace manual methods with more efficient processes," said Hegarty. "We were signed, installed, and configured within 30 days with over a dozen document definitions completed. And with out-of-the-box API’s, we’re allowed to customize as many Retalix screens as we desire.”

Retalix and S4i have a trusted partnership allowing Lipari to leverage both their current software and current hardware investment, according to Susanne Moore, S4i’s director of Sales and Service.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lipari into our family of happy Retalix customers," Moore said. "We are starting off the implementation with Desktop Capture, (the) S4i productivity tool with proven capture technology by adding various sizes of Fujitsu Scanners and configuring this solution to ingest everything from manufacturing recipes to vendor contracts, insurance forms, HR documents, and so forth. Lipari is also automating the complete distribution of invoices, credit memos, and statements to their customers. Purchase orders, vendor billings, and AP deductions for vendors are also being processed with this desktop capture solution. S4i allows Lipari to share, display, and distribute documents up and down the supply chain by taking advantage of cutting-edge, paperless technology for a very fast ROI.”

Lipari selected S4i’s Express and capture products to electronically capture paper-based proof of delivery invoices, capture electronic spool files and PDF documents from price lists, credit memos, invoices, statements and other internal reports and distribute them automatically. S4i’s WebView will make documents easily available for retrieval from within Power Enterprise for employees, Power Net: Customer Portal for customers, and Power Net: Vendor Portal for vendors. Lipari will also take advantage of lifecycle features to archive reports and documents for long-term storage.
