Intelligent Operations Center mobile user, a new user type for IBM Intelligent Operations Center V1.6, provides greater flexibility when building solutions that support a large number of stakeholders. It complements the existing license types for Intelligent Operations Center.

Intelligent Operations Center enables a city or an organization to analyze and visualize data from diverse sources in order to make decisions accurately and quickly. Leveraging analytics as well as human interaction, the solution allows organizations to draw insight from many different inputs and then take action to increase safety and security, reduce costs, and improve the quality of life for citizens. After insights are learned or actions defined, they often need to be disseminated to a broad audience.

Intelligent Operation Center mobile user can:

  • View data on the map, reports, and key performance indicator display in the console.
  • Start, skip, and complete actions in and add comments and references to a standard operating procedure.
  • Access application programming interfaces (APIs) to read and write data in the solution from custom or third-party applications.

For access to additional functionality such as creating data items, setting configuration parameters, or configuring analytics and reports, Intelligent Operations Center standard user type should be used. Refer to Software Announcement 213-032, dated January 08, 2013, for information about other Intelligent Operations Center user types (premium, standard, developer, consumer).

Intelligent Operations Center mobile user supports access from a variety of stakeholders such as:

  • A city council person who needs to monitor progress towards city goals, using key performance indicators and trend reports.
  • A police officer who needs to view the results of crime analytics during a planning meeting.
  • A first responder who needs access to basic situational awareness through a mobile application before entering a new area.
  • An individual receiving performance information about a piece of equipment on a mobile application provided by the equipment manufacturer.
