Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise Now Manages Microsoft SQL Server Jobs

Users can include their SQL Server jobs into a single, cross-system job stream by scheduling SQL Server jobs in an enterprise environment.

Help/Systems has announced that Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise, an enterprise job scheduler for Power Systems running IBM i (System i, iSeries, and AS/400), can integrate Microsoft SQL Server jobs into an enterprise schedule. Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise extends the power of Robot/SCHEDULE, the batch job scheduler for IBM i, to Windows, UNIX, and Linux servers.

By scheduling SQL Server jobs in an enterprise environment, users can include their SQL Server jobs into a single, cross-system job stream. For example, a user could run a job on the IBM i server to build data, FTP the data to a SQL Server to create reports, and then launch the process to run the SQL Server package and create the reports—all automatically. SQL Server jobs also can react to system events, processes, and SNMP traps on any Windows, UNIX, or Linux server connected to Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise on the IBM i server.

In addition to job scheduling, users can also view SQL Server job statuses using Robot/SCHEDULE's management tools, such as the Job Completion History, the Schedule List, and the Schedule Activity Monitor.
